Thinking of Buying a House in Charlotte? Can a Realtor Help?

With more homes on the market than average, the Charlotte area is poised for serious buyers. But if you are thinking of buying, don’t think that you are in for a steal.

Charlotte, NC is still one of the strongest markets in the country with home prices continuing to appreciate. In the sixteen county Charlotte metro area, homes are still selling at on average 97% of there asking prices. And with homes sales that historically warm up in the spring months, be ready to see more buyers in the market. This is also the time when more sellers will put their homes up for sale in the Charlotte metro area.

If you are a prospective home buyer the two most important components in looking for a home in the Charlotte metro area is to find one that meets your needs and to make sure it is in an appreciating area. Why in appreciating an area? Well for most people their home is one of the biggest investments they make. When you are ready to move, you want to be assured that you can sell your home and make money.

The only catch for buyers is it is hard to find the right home in real estate books and on the internet. And if you’re looking at new construction homes watch out for the gimmicks and know that the onsite rep is working for the builder, not always in your best interest. There are so many homes in the Charlotte metro area. How do you know if you are qualified, what’s your monthly payment, is it a good neighborhood, or even a good home? That’s where a Realtor can help.

EpiCentre, Charlotte mixed-use Entertainment Complex

Many have been wondering what type of business and establishments will be moving into the new epicentre here in charlotte. The 267,000 square feet of real estate will nest between 40-50 shops and restraints. Ghazi reports the complex is almost fully leased.

Restaurant tenants run the gamut from Five Guys Burgers, Smoothy King, Bruegger's Bagels, Flying Biscuit, Shane’s Rib Shack and The Fudgery. Several high-end eateries include Cantina Laredo, Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar and Bella Vista Restaurant and Lounge. There will also be an 18 lane bowling alley and a five-screen movie theater.

Bars and clubs will abound. The Rooftop Terrace is a 16,000-square-foot lounge, which will host concerts and private parties. Suite is a Top 40 club. BlackFinn Restaurant & Saloon is an Irish-themed pub. And Howl at the Moon will feature dueling pianos and singalongs. And for the sports fans there will be Whiskey River, a country music and rock-and-roll bar owned by Dale Earnhardt Jr. (update) we actually had some friends stop by Whiskey River and they were severely disappointed. And we quote “you would actually think you would have a vast selection of whiskey at Whiskey River, but you didn’t. All you had was a bunch of male NASCAR fans and no women. Take your money across the street to Mimosa where the scenery is much better and they server something other than warm beer.”
